A celebration of the first century of Erie’s historic garden city.
Join us as we commemorate a century of history + community.
A series of events and activities will offer opportunities to connect with neighbors and celebrate the rich tapestry of our township’s heritage. We’ll also plant the seeds for some bold ideas for the future.
While February 8 is the official marker for the centennial, the celebration will be taking place all year long, including lectures on the history of Lawrence Park for both adults and children, podcasts, community-wide tree planting and even a Jazz Age Ball.
What’s planned for 2026?
Planning is kicking into overdrive for the series of programs offering lots of opportunities to get involved. Join your neighbors in exploring the full potential of the events and find out how to contribute both your time and money to help make it a success.
There are lots of ways
to get involved.

“Lawrence Park has always been defined by its community. Annual events like the Fourth of July Parade, and the Santa visit to the gazebo connect people in profound ways.”
— John Smith
The Lawrence Park
Origin Story
The founding of Lawrence Park was sparked by the spectacular success of Thomas Edison’s revolutionary harnessing of the power of electricity. As General Electric started to look west from the East Coast to expand their operations, a plot of land just east of Erie caught their eye.
The rest is history.
